U.N. Agency Used U.S. Taxpayer Dollars to Enable Hamas

(TargetDailyNews.com) – Israeli intelligence has released dossiers for 12 individuals affiliated with UNRWA, the U.N. agency that facilitates the distribution of food, medicine, and education to the residents of Gaza. Israel accused the individuals of being directly involved in the October 7th attacks and alleged some of the individuals were involved in hostage-taking, weapons transfers, and other actions in support of the attack.

The dossiers were discussed during a House Foreign Relations subcommittee hearing on Tuesday, January 30th. Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) senior advisor Richard Goldberg called UNRWA “a horror show” and added that the agency was funded by U.S. tax dollars.

Seven of the accused crossed into Israel on October 7th to participate in the attacks, the remainder were accused of logistical support. Over a billion dollars has been given to UNRWA during the Biden administration.

Fox News Digital dug into a Telegram channel that claimed to be a popular gathering spot for UNRWA teachers. The channel contained curriculums, schedules, and names of some staff members in Gaza. It also contained numerous posts celebrating the October 7th attacks and praise for the soldiers who engaged in the bloodshed.

Fox News Digital also showed a video in August where Palestinian children were being taught to hate Jews and Israel in a refugee camp outside of Nablus, in the West Bank.

A 2019 report suggested educational materials contained “systematic hatred” of Israelis and Jews while glorifying Palestinian fighters. Hamas tunnels have previously been discovered under UNRWA schools, further indicting the organization.

A spokesman for the U.N. Secretary-General said that as of January 26th, 15 countries who regularly give to the agency had suspended payments.

UNRWA Commissioner Philippe Lazzarini announced an investigation and already fired those listed in the Israeli dossiers. Some have claimed the agency itself is beyond repair and called for Lazzarini’s resignation.

A press release suggests that the Secretary-General was “horrified” by the allegations, and said that there are still tens of thousands of agency employees in the region who are there to support the innocent civilians with food, medicine, and educational experiences.
