Trump Losing Ground in Several Swing States According to Polls

(TargetDailyNews.com) – Polling from swing states showed a bump for President Joe Biden on Tuesday, March 26th. With seven months left to go, polling between the two men has largely shown Trump leading Biden by several points depending on which poll one considers. Polling in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan have become incredibly close, with Biden leading by a point in Wisconsin while the men are tied in the other two states.

Trump still leads in Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina and Georgia. Georgia is the only state to have shown an increase for Trump in recent polling, however. Biden appeared in North Carolina on March 26th for a campaign stop.

Trump appeared in a New York courtroom on Monday, March 25th in connection with the hush money case brought by DA Alvin Bragg over alleged financial crimes related to payments to adult star Stormy Daniels. Trump got a boon on Monday from the NY Appeals Court: they reduced the fine in his civil fraud case to $175 million, down from $454 million. Trump agreed to post the amount within the required 10-day period to advance his appeal in that case. He said he’ll be paying it with cash.

Trump also posted a $92 million bond to appeal the civil defamation case brought by E. Jean Carroll and financed by left-leaning billionaire and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman. Trump has denied all of Carroll’s allegations, insisting she fabricated her claims whole-cloth.

Trump campaign spokesman Jason Miller highlighted that Trump is still well ahead in a recent Harvard/Harris poll. The national poll showed that Trump was favored by several points, by 2,111 registered voters. The poll also showed that most respondents (63%) felt Biden was “too old” to be president with 57% qualifying their remarks by suggesting Biden is “unfit” for office. A majority (56%) also believe Biden was involved in his family business deals.

Polling is an imperfect metric to gauge popular sentiment. Hillary Clinton lost famously to Donald Trump in 2016 despite polling showing she was hotly anticipated to win. If anything is clear from these polls, it’s that this race will be close.
