(TargetDailyNews.com) – President Joe Biden allegedly was moved to tears after Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar quoted his deceased son, Beau Biden, during the Shamrock Ceremony at the White House on March 18th to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
Varadkar called Beau Biden a “courageous Irish-American,” and quoted his sentiments regarding “the sacred promise” people make as parents and citizens to improve the future for everyone.
Beau Biden died in 2015 after being diagnosed with brain cancer. He was only 46 years old at the time of his death. President Joe Biden was seen wiping his face after the comments were made with headlines suggesting Biden “breaks down in tears.” While Biden was seen wiping his face, no video or images of actual tears streaming down his face were available at the time of writing.
The crowd applauded wildly at the mention of Biden’s dead son. Varadkar continued by elaborating on the American value of defending freedom and highlighted how America defended Ukraine from Russia. He also elaborated sentiments of JFK who famously and frequently advocated for peaceful coexistence between nations.
Varadkar used that to pivot to the Israel-Hamas war and explained that the people of Ireland are rightly concerned about “the catastrophe” in Gaza. He explained that Ireland has also had historical issues with occupation by a foreign imperial power, which makes the Middle East situation resonate with the Irish people.
Varadkar stressed the potential impact of the U.S. in resolving the conflict shouldn’t be underestimated and said that he believed the U.S. was a fundamental “force for good” in global affairs.
Observers suggested that the speech was a politically savvy method to encourage Biden to apply more pressure on Israel to resolve the war with minimal violence. Israel has been planning another ground invasion into Rafah to finish off Hamas leadership, which they claim is still hiding in tunnels underneath the city. The Palestinian death toll has already risen over 30,000 according to their medical authorities.
