(TargetDailyNews.com) – A new report is alleging that the previous J6 investigation committee headed by former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) deleted over 100 encrypted files from the investigation in mysterious circumstances.
House Administration Committee Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) said that forensics analysis performed on congressional computers discovered that 117 files were deleted and/or encrypted on January 1st, 2023, just before Republicans took over control of the House.
The files were under investigation led by Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) and former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WI). Cheney was voted out during her state’s primary in the 2022 election cycle.
The discovery of deleted and encrypted files begs the question as to why they were purged and encoded in the first place. Loudermilk said that Cheney and Thompson “intended to obstruct” investigations and worked hard to do so. He further alleged that they violated House rules regarding the preservation of critical material.
Loudermilk said that continued investigations of J6 are revealing more and more data thanks to initiatives led by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA). Loudermilk added that Johnson had tripled their staff and committed additional resources so the truth about J6 could be revealed to the public.
The riot at the Capitol began shortly before Trump had finished speaking, and while Trump’s largely been blamed for the events, he instructed his supporters to proceed peacefully and never advised criminal activity.
Loudermilk gave comments to Fox News suggesting that the American public deserved to know what really happened on J6. He said the idea was to simply expose the facts and let the public make their own conclusions therefrom. He called previous narratives from the Democrats deceptive and based on “cherry-picked” evidence.
He said he wasn’t attempting to vindicate anyone, but rather, expose the truth so the public could make their own determinations. Loudermilk said that his investigation will be impartial and he will focus on things like security failures, early intelligence about a potential riot, and what the FBI knew and when they knew it.
