Biden’s DHHS Knowingly Threw Children to the Wolves, Says DOJ

(TargetDailyNews.com) – A new Department of Justice (DOJ) lawsuit is alleging negligence of untold proportions by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) after it was revealed that dozens of migrant children were sexually harassed and abused by employees at a subcontractor that housed the unaccompanied minors after they were found at the border.

The lawsuit documents multiple incidents between 2015 and 2023 involving Southwest Key, the single largest housing provider for kids who come over the border by themselves. The Austin-based company operates 29 shelters for migrant children across multiple border states. They regularly have thousands of kids in their shelters.

Employees with Southwest Key have been accused of solicitation of adult acts as well as nude pictures from the children in their care. There have also been allegations of sexual assault, as well as threats made against victims to remain silent. Many of the children can’t speak English and their abusers used that advantage to peddle their lies and threats to maintain their silence and complicity in the abuse.

Critics have highlighted that Southwest Key has been awarded over three billion dollars in taxpayer funds through grants doled out by the DHHS.

There’s no specific mention of the precise number of incidents or victims but several examples were given. Victims of the abuse range from between 5 to 17 years old. One of the instances involved a single employee who abused multiple girls, aged 5, 8, and 11, repeatedly. The eight-year-old reported the man would come into her room at night, abuse her, and then threaten her with the death of her family if she ever spoke about it to anyone.

DHHS employees wouldn’t comment on their relationship with Southwest Key nor explain why they’d continue to use the firm after multiple incidents of abuse were reported. The DOJ also declined to comment due to the pending litigation. A representative for Southwest Key confirmed that the organization is still providing housing for migrant children who come over the southern border.

Organization representatives claimed they were “in constant communication” with government agents to maintain the safety of the children and implied they’ve been doing so all along.
