AOC Calls Out Israel for Committing War Crimes

(TargetDailyNews.com) – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is accusing Israel of war crimes for their alleged attacks on civilians in Gaza in retaliation for the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel that resulted in hundreds of dead civilians and over two hundred hostages being taken. The death toll in Gaza is over three thousand people, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

AOC also denounced Hamas and said their war against Israel was also rife with war crimes while explaining that the asymmetrical power between the two sides in the conflict was partially to blame. She told MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan that the details coming out about the October 7th attack on Israel are shocking and horrific. She elaborated that war crimes in response to war crimes is not an appropriate response by Israel, however.

She called Israeli retaliation in Gaza “collective punishment” and highlighted Israel’s refusal to allow food and water into the region during their strikes. She also qualified Israeli bombing as ‘indiscriminate’ and accused Israel of using banned chemical weapons like white phosphorous.

The weapon burns extremely hot and destroys flesh with the slightest exposure, leaving bones exposed and deadly wounds. Israel is the only country that has been accused of using it in the modern era.

Israel has denied using the chemical weapon despite reports from Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International that provided video and photographic evidence of the weapon being used in the region.

She called the mass slaughter of 1,700 Palestinian children “unacceptable” and slammed the rationale that somehow their murder was justified by the Hamas October 7th attacks.

She called for an immediate cease-fire in the region, despite the possibility of leaving Hamas in charge. Israel’s current goal is to eradicate the organization in response to their attack. She asked Hasan if eliminating Hamas was worth the price of thousands of innocent Palestinian lives.

Twenty trucks were able to gain access to the region, delivering medicine, food, and water. Hamas still holds approximately 200 hostages.
